The ball finally got rolling on October 2 in the
evening. At around mid-night, we were at
the hospital again. This time, we were
not to be sent home. Long story short,
the next day, on October 3 at 4:45 pm, our baby girl was born. We named her AGOTA MARIJA GEDRIS. “Agota” is the Lithuanian form of “Agatha.” Her English-speaking friends can call her
Agatha. UPDATE: for those who are
interested, there is a St.
Agatha.
Here are some pictures from our adventure!
An excited Stacey gave us a ride to
the hospital.
She was doing some fancy contractin’
in the back of Stacey’s car.
But she became more pensive as the
contractions got stronger.
I inspected the room and deemed it
fit for birthin’.
The room had a jacuzzi! We both
enjoyed that!!!
It took a little while, and some
fancy pushing on the part of Jurga, but eventually our little Agota was
born. Hurray!
She’s a real cutie, but what a set
of lungs!
But she doesn’t cry all the time.
Her weight at birth was 3.3
kilos. That translates into 7 pounds, 5
ounces.
The grandparents were certainly
happy!
So was the new dad. But he sure was tired!
The excited Stacey (see top) stopped
by to say ‘hi’ to the new baby.
She’s a natural at this baby-holding
stuff!
